Rope Straight-Arm Pulldown

Cable Lats

The Rope Straight-Arm Pulldown is a strength movement that targets your lats. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Rope Straight-Arm Pulldown

  1. Stand facing a high cable with a rope attachment, arms extended overhead, slight forward lean at the hips.
  2. Keeping your arms straight, pull the rope down to your thighs by driving your lats.
  3. Squeeze hard at the bottom before returning slowly to the start position.
  4. Don't let your elbows bend — if they do, reduce the weight.
