How to do the Smith Machine Bench Press

  1. Lie flat on the bench and position the bar directly over your mid-chest.
  2. Unrack with a shoulder-width grip, retract your shoulder blades, and maintain a slight arch.
  3. Lower the bar to your chest under control, then press back to full extension.
  4. Keep your feet flat and your wrists stacked over your elbows throughout.
