Straight-Arm Pulldown

Cable Lats

The Straight-Arm Pulldown is a strength movement that targets your lats. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Straight-Arm Pulldown

  1. Stand facing a high cable with a straight bar, hinge at the hips, and keep your arms nearly locked.
  2. Begin with the bar at eye level and your lats engaged.
  3. Pull the bar down in an arc to your thighs by depressing and retracting your shoulder blades.
  4. Do not bend your elbows or let your torso rock forward to generate momentum.
