How to do the Close-Grip Barbell Bench Press

  1. Grip the bar with hands 6–12 inches apart and unrack it over your lower chest.
  2. Lower the bar to your lower chest with elbows tucked close to your torso.
  3. Press to lockout, squeezing your triceps at the top.
  4. Keep your feet flat and your back stable throughout the set.
