Pin Presses

Barbell Triceps

The Pin Presses is a powerlifting movement that targets your triceps. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Pin Presses

  1. Set the safety pins at your target height — typically just below your sticking point — and lie flat on the bench beneath the bar.
  2. Unrack the bar from the pins and press to full extension.
  3. Lower the bar back to the pins and come to a complete stop before driving up again — no bouncing.
  4. Keep your feet flat, upper back tight, and wrists stacked directly over your elbows.
