The Smith Machine Calf Raise is a strength movement that targets your calves. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Smith Machine Calf Raise

  1. Place the bar across your upper traps and stand with the balls of your feet on a platform, heels off the edge.
  2. Lower your heels as far as comfortable to get a full stretch at the bottom.
  3. Press up onto your toes as high as possible and hold briefly at the top.
  4. Move through the full range — no short, bouncy reps.
