Barbell Deadlift
The Barbell Deadlift is a strength movement that targets your lower back. Here's how to do it with clean form.
How to do the Barbell Deadlift
- Stand with the bar over your mid-foot, hip-width stance, and hinge down to grip just outside your legs.
- Flatten your back, brace your core, and pull your shoulders back before the bar leaves the floor.
- Drive the floor away and keep the bar dragging up your shins.
- Lock out hips and knees together at the top — don't hyperextend.
