Deadlift with Bands

Barbell Lower Back

The Deadlift with Bands is a powerlifting movement that targets your lower back. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Deadlift with Bands

  1. Set up bands anchored under the plates or to a rack base, with the bar loaded and on the floor.
  2. Hinge at the hips, grip just outside your legs, and brace your core before the pull.
  3. Drive through your heels and lock out hard at the top — the bands increase resistance as you rise.
  4. Lower the bar under control; don't let the bands yank you down.
