Bradford/Rocky Presses

Barbell Shoulders

The Bradford/Rocky Presses is a strength movement that targets your shoulders. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Bradford/Rocky Presses

  1. Hold the bar at shoulder width in a front rack position; do not use a thumbless grip.
  2. Press the bar just over your head and lower it behind your head to the rear delts — do not lock out.
  3. Immediately press back over and return to the front — that is one rep; keep the motion continuous.
  4. Use a conservative load; the constant tension and arc place high stress on the shoulder joint.
