How to do the Dumbbell Lying One-Arm Rear Lateral Raise

  1. Lie on your side on a bench with one dumbbell in your top hand, arm hanging in front of you.
  2. Raise the dumbbell up and back in a wide arc until your arm is roughly parallel to the floor.
  3. Lower slowly back to the start position.
  4. Lead with your elbow, not your hand, to keep the rear delt engaged.
