Seated Good Mornings

Barbell Lower Back

The Seated Good Mornings is a powerlifting movement that targets your lower back. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Seated Good Mornings

  1. Sit at the end of a bench with the barbell across your upper traps, feet flat on the floor.
  2. Brace your core and hinge forward at the hips until your torso is roughly parallel to the floor.
  3. Drive your hips forward to return to upright, squeezing your glutes at the top.
  4. Keep your lower back in a neutral arch throughout — never round under load.
