How to do the Smith Machine Overhead Shoulder Press

  1. Set the bar at upper-chest height, sit directly under it with feet flat and core braced.
  2. Unrack and press straight up until arms are fully extended overhead.
  3. Lower under control until the bar reaches chin level, elbows tracking slightly forward.
  4. Keep your lower back neutral — avoid arching to compensate for tight shoulders.
