How to do the Smith Machine Pistol Squat

  1. Position the bar across your upper traps and stand on one foot, extending the other leg forward.
  2. Descend slowly by pushing your hips back and bending the standing knee as deep as control allows.
  3. Drive through the heel to stand, keeping your extended leg off the floor throughout.
  4. Use the fixed bar path for balance, but don't let it mask a collapsing knee — keep it tracked over your toes.
