Smith Single-Leg Split Squat

Machine Quadriceps

The Smith Single-Leg Split Squat is a strength movement that targets your quadriceps. Here's how to do it with clean form.

How to do the Smith Single-Leg Split Squat

  1. Position the bar across your upper traps, place one foot forward and the other extended behind you on the floor or a bench.
  2. Descend by bending the front knee until the rear knee nearly touches the floor.
  3. Push through the front heel to return to the start, keeping your torso upright.
  4. Keep the front knee tracking over the second toe — don't let it cave inward under load.
