How to do the Standing Barbell Press Behind Neck

  1. Unrack the barbell and hold it behind your head at the base of your skull, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  2. Press straight up until your arms are fully locked out overhead.
  3. Lower the bar under control back to the starting position.
  4. Keep your neck neutral — do not jut your chin forward into the bar's path.
