  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, barbell held at hip height with an overhand grip.
  2. Raise the bar forward with straight arms, continuing past shoulder height to overhead.
  3. Brace your core and avoid arching your lower back as the bar rises.
  4. Lower the bar under control back to the starting position.
