How to do the Upright Barbell Row
- Stand holding a barbell with an overhand grip, hands about shoulder-width apart or slightly narrower.
- Pull the bar straight up toward your chin, leading with your elbows.
- Raise until the bar reaches upper-chest height and your elbows are above your wrists.
- Lower the bar with control and keep it close to your body throughout.
